State Capacity Building Programs

As environmental policy battles shift to the states, it becomes even more important to educate and mobilize citizens at the local level. We are helping states with campaigns to promote strong implementation of the EPA Clean Power Plan, advance and defend Renewable Electricity Standards, protect clean water, and more. In addition to winning immediate protections for our environment and health, these efforts keep pressure on Congress and industry to act to protect the environment.

LCVEF’s state capacity-building programs grow the infrastructure and leadership necessary to advance and defend strong climate and clean energy policies in the states. We provide our network of more than 25 state LCV education funds with support to run nonpartisan civic engagement and issue programs, trainings to boost the skills of state staff and board members, and resources to develop state boards and fundraising. Our national network continues to impact state environmental policies, particularly on climate and clean energy.
