Building Grassroots Power

LCV Education Fund’s community-based organizing programs build locally rooted and racially inclusive grassroots communities to mobilize for climate action and a stronger democracy.

Community-Led Solutions

To create the public momentum necessary to tackle climate change, strengthen our democracy, dismantle systemic racism, and ensure the long-term health of all communities, LCV Education Fund and our state affiliates work to build a powerful and inclusive environmental movement. Through our Chispa and Climate Action programs and art activism, we connect people to political solutions.

We Mobilize for Action

Communities of color and young people are disproportionately affected by environmental pollution and climate change.
Our community-based organizing engages communities of color and young people in innovative, culturally relevant ways that put people at the center of solutions.
We continue to deepen our organizing, art activism, and training programs to build grassroots power to advance long-term democracy and climate goals.

Building Power in the States

Our national network of 30+ state affiliates is essential to engaging the public, environmental groups, and policymakers to advance environmental priorities across the country. LCV Education Fund works closely with our independent state partners to build strong and effective public education and advocacy programs for environmental protection and land conservation at local, state, and national levels.

Chispa

LCV Education Fund’s Chispa (Spanish for “spark”) program builds the grassroots power of Latinx communities and boosts local communities’ civic participation with the single aim of creating healthier environments in Latinx communities and communities of color who are too often disproportionately impacted by harmful environmental policies.

Democracy For All

Democracy For All (DFA), a program of the LCVEF, improves access so that all communities historically excluded from the electoral process, such as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities, communities with low wealth, young voters, and rural communities have a voice at the ballot box. The DFA program engages in this work by registering and turning people out to vote, and through transformational community organizing.

Boards & Commissions Fellowships

LCV Education Fund’s grant program supports Boards and Commissions Fellowship programs led by our state affiliates in the Conservation Voter Movement. Fellows are drawn from our state affiliates and allied community organizations. The fellowship is intended to recruit racially diverse, values-aligned environmental leaders and help them to secure appointments to boards and commissions that can help to advance a clean energy and pro-environment agenda.
